Terms of Use
These terms apply to the Proud Jar and Proud Jar Kids apps and the Proud Jar service, operated by AppXLab, an independent software studio run by Said Aazzou, Casablanca, Morocco (“we”). The iOS apps are licensed to you under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, together with these terms. If they conflict, Apple’s agreement governs the licence to the iOS app itself. Android distribution is through Google Play under its applicable terms.
The service
Proud Jar helps a family agree tasks, record earned tokens and exchange them for rewards or screen time on a child’s own phone. Tokens and rewards are a family’s own bookkeeping: they have no cash value, cannot be bought, and Proud Jar never moves money. Screen Time controls apply to supported iPhones once Screen Time access is allowed on the child’s iPhone; no Family Sharing is needed. Whoever holds that phone can turn this access off in its Settings; the parent app shows when it is off. Proud Jar rewards effort; it is not a guarantee that a child cannot use other apps. Android v1 has no app blocking, installed-app usage metering, minute purchases, free passes or offline screen-time grants. Timed task proofs, shared tasks and family rewards remain available across platforms.
Accounts and households
Parents need an account; children use a phone paired by a parent. You are responsible for who you invite to your household. The household owner can remove co-parents and devices, transfer ownership and delete the household.
Household subscription
- The Free plan covers one child, you and one co-parent, three tasks per child a day, photo and say-so proof, screen-time minutes on supported iPhones, the default rules and seven days of history.
- The Household plan adds unlimited children, co-parents and daily tasks, repeating routines, timer proof, activity and cash rewards, every rule and full history.
- Each new household gets one free 14-day Household trial when it is created, with no payment details. A trial is available once per parent account and once per phone. When it ends, the household returns to Free unless it has a subscription; nothing is deleted.
- Household is an auto-renewable subscription, monthly or yearly, bought in the iPhone parent app through the App Store. The App Store shows the current price, billing period and any offer before you confirm, and charges your Apple ID. The Android apps do not sell subscriptions; a household that already has the Household plan keeps it on every phone.
- Manage or cancel renewal in your Apple subscription settings. Apple determines the renewal, cancellation and access-period rules shown for your purchase.
- If an App Store introductory offer is available to your Apple ID, its terms are shown before purchase. It is separate from the free household trial above.
- One subscription covers one household, for every authorized parent and child phone in it, across iPhone and Android. Another operating system does not require a second subscription. It is not shared through Apple Family Sharing and cannot be moved to another household. If the parent who pays leaves the household, it continues until they cancel it or it lapses.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. If no valid App Store coverage or free trial remains, the household returns to Free. Nothing your family made is deleted; only adding new Household features pauses.
- Deleting your household or account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it in your Apple subscription settings.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, attempt to access another household, interfere with its security, or use it to harm a child. We may suspend access that puts children or the service at risk.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the service available and your data safe, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, and we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Morocco. Disputes are submitted to the competent courts of Casablanca, without depriving you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws and courts of the country where you live.
